This proposal is submitted by the Siddhartha Child Development Foundation (SCDF), 21D, Sirigal Mawatte, Kohuwela, Nugegoda,  founded on the 26th of March 2005, to plan, design and implement  child and community development programs from the beginning of May 2005.

The main founder member of the foundation was affected by the 2006 Tsunami catastrophe and lost her only child of 05 years.  Therefore the Siddhartha Child Development Foundation came into being together with a team of colleagues and professionals in the field of child protection, child /community development in exploring ways that children and the community at large from any part of the country could be supported, through social and community work interventions.

sidathSidath, a brilliant and fun loving son of a professional Sri Lankan couple became a victim of Tsunami in Sri lanka on December 26th, 2004.

Sidath was just about to have breakfast with his parents when the first wave approached their motel dining room. His father took him out of the room, but both of them were taken away by the second wave. His father survived but Sidath did not. His mother, together with some concerned individuals, started a foundation to help Tsunami affected families in Sri Lanka.
