RDPA 2007 in Japan@

Conveners are Dr. Hiromasa Ueda(ADORC) and Kentaro Murano(NIES)

With the fast economic development and population growth, more and more pollutants are released into the atmosphere by various anthropogenic activities. Thus, the environmental quality is constantly deteriorating because of the high emission rate of the pollutants. Considering that human beings and most other creatures dwell on the earth surface, they are actually being influenced by the pollutants that are deposited on the ground through some physical and chemical processes. However, the deposition processes are far from being fully understood in the academia, as well as their potential influence on the living space of all creatures. In order to further understand the processes involved in the emission, transport, deposition and effects of the pollutants, RDPA (2007) aims to exchange new information on the scientific and technological advances at a multidisciplinary stage, including atmospheric physics and chemistry, environmental science and engineering, ecology and climatology. Simultaneously, it also endeavors to provide an opportunity to enhance the international cooperation to tackle the environment issues in Asia.
