HANDBOOK 2012
1 Application process
Students must apply for admission into the school.
Students must re-apply for admission on an annual basis. For example, a student who successfully applied in January must re-apply next January.
2 Lesson Hours
All classes last 55 minutes.
3 Things to Bring Please write the student's name on all items in English
Textbook
Exercise notebook (with line markings, suitable for English handrwiting)
Water bottle (Children may not drink the school's tap water)
*Please do not bring stationery such as pencil cases, pencils, or erasers as they may interfere with the lesson. （MA will provide stationery for lessons）
4 Homework
There are certain lessons where homework will not be given. All homework that is handed out should be brought into class the next lesson.
5 Things not permitted to bring to school
MA is not responsible for loss or damage to items such as toys, accessories, computer games and other items mentioned in article 3.
6 Illness
Please refrain from sending a child to school if they have a fever higher than 37.0℃.
After recovery from a serious illness or an infectious illness, please bring a Medical Certificate of Recovery issued by a doctor.
7 Sending Medicine
MA will not look after medicine unless the child can handle and take the medication by himself/herself.
8 Injury and sickness in the school
The school takes the best care to ensure that adequate and appropriate supervision will be provided during all of our school programs and activities.
However, unanticipated situations, such as accidents or injuries can arise on any excursion. If something happens the following measures will be taken:
・Antiseptic, first aid spray and adhesive bandages will be applied to minor wounds such as scratches. Please understand that every small scratch or bruise may not be noticed.
・If the school cannot get in touch with parents/guardians in an emergency, an assessment of the extent of the injury will be made and the student will be taken to the hospital if necessary. (The transportation fee will be invoiced to the parents.)
9 Booking Lessons
Lessons are typically organised in groups of 4 consecutive lessons (in some cases lessons may be organised in groups of only 2 lessons).
If a student does not participate in the Fundamentals Class course, they will not be eligible to participate in any of the Language, Social Studies, Personal and Social Education or Science courses.
Lessons for the next month should be booked by FAX by the end of the current month.
10 Number of students per class
For Fundamentals Class , the limit is 2 students per lesson.
For optional (non-Fundamentals) classes , the limit is 4 students per lesson.
11 Makeup Lessons
A makeup lesson can only be booked if the desired class has a vacancy, i.e. the class is not fully booked.
12 Change of Address and Telephone Number
Please inform the school and submit a Change of Contact Detail Form after any changes of address, telephone number or emergency contact numbers. This should be done by submitting a new application form.
13 Tuition Payment
Invoices for payment will be issued after payment has been received. Payment should arrive no later than the end of the month.
Payment should be made by bank transfer. Cash payment is not accepted. Tickets need to be purchased for all classes.
Please pay outstanding fees within 7 days after an invoice has been given.
Please bear the bank transfer handling costs. Bank transfers must include the child’s name.
Additional charges for special events may be charged.
14 Leave of Absence
If your child does not attend at least one class per month then a \6000 absence fee will be charged.
Schedules and monthly calendars are uploaded monthly in the MA PTA blog. If we have not heard from you for a period of 6 months then we assume you will be withdrawing from MA.
No refunds will be returned if this occurs. (see 17-Payment Arrears and 18-Refund Policy)
15 Withdrawal
Please submit a Withdrawal Form at least one month in advance. (For example: If withdrawing on the 20th of March, the form should be submitted by Feb 20th).
However, in cases of company transfer, withdrawal within the same month is accepted with a certificate from the company (no following month tuition will be charged).
If you wish to re-join MA but have already submitted a withdrawal form you may do so but take note that the entrance fee and insurance fee will need to be paid once more. Enrollment fees will not be required.
Students who have been expelled will not be able to re-join.
16 Payment Arrears
If payments are not received after 10 days of the due date, 10% of the unpaid bill will be added to the original bill.
If payment is still not received after three months, your child will be suspended until payment is received or may even be expelled from the school.
Please be aware that suspension or expulsion due to payment arrears does not exempt the obligation of paying the bill.
17 Refund Policy
Lesson fees CANNOT be refunded.
18 School Notices
Notices for monthly curriculum will be sent home in the MA PTA Blog. As we are quite busy, if you have any questions or queries for either the teachers or Mrs. Sugawara please write them to the MA mail address. With regards to telephoning the school, please call if you will be late either dropping off or picking up your child. If you would like to speak with your child’s teacher or Mrs. Sugawara please arrange an appointment. Once your child enrolls in the school, you must become a registered user of the MA PTA blog.
19 Guidlines for exchanging or giving gifts to teachers
Teachers cannot accept any personal gifts.
Teachers cannot meet any students/families/guardians outside of school or on a personal basis.
Please do not ask teachers for their contact details (phone numbers, mail address etc). In return please do not give out your contact details to any teachers.
When dropping off and picking up your child, please do not take a long time to speak with the teachers as they have a job to do. If you would like to discuss your childs education then please make an appointment to do so. (When the teachers are on break time, going home or preparing the next lesson, please do not disturb them. If you have a message for them, please write it to the MA mail address.)
If any of these rules are broken the penalty is expulsion.
20 Approval for the use of pictures
Photography and printing are permitted for use by MA, in web sites, magazines, etc.
However, sometimes we may use pictures for the children without showing their face clearly.
If you want the use of your child's photo restricted you must fill out a request on an application form.
21 Renting library books
Admitted students who are in the Primary Class and After School class will be allowed to borrow and take home books.
Students will be allowed to rent library books on the following grounds : The student can read the book alone ・ The parents are willing to read the book to their child. ・ The student is able to take good care of the book etc ...
MA will give notice to students who are able to rent books.
Books can be borrowed for a period of 2 weeks. (This also applies to parents renting books)
The books at MA are very important to us. If a book is found to be damaged in any way (water, food, drawn on, etc) the full price of the book must be covered.
22 Expulsion
We may request a student's withdrawal from the school, if a problem arises such as not paying school fees, or if children/parents do not follow the MA guidlines.
If either of these cases occurs, the school will not refund any of the tuition or other fees.
In the event of expulsion MA will send a Letter of Expulsion. This letter is to be signed and resent to MA within the time space of one week.
*These rules are subject to change without notice; however we will pass out a new copy of the handbook or post it on the message board when any changes happen.

２ 持ち物
全てにローマ字で名前をお書き下さい。
・テキスト、ノート（英語またはローマ字用のノート）
・水筒（水道水を飲ませる事はできませんので、家からお持ちください。）
＊勉強の妨げとなりますので筆箱・鉛筆・消しゴムなどの文房具は持ってこないで下さい。（授業ではMAで用意した同じものを使用しています。）
３ Homework（宿題）
ＨＷ（宿題）が出るクラスもあります。次回レッスンの時に持ってきてください。
４ 持ってきてはいけない物
おもちゃ・アクセサリー・ＤＳ等ＧＡＭＥ・・・・など（２の持ち物以外の物）を持ってきた場合、紛失や破損の責任はとれません。
５ 病気について
熱が37.0℃以上ある、具合が悪いなどの場合は無理をせず家庭で静養してください。
インフルエンザ等、重い病気や伝染病の場合は回復後に医師の証明書が必要です。
６ 薬
お子様が自分で管理して飲むことができる場合を除いて、薬の投薬はできません。
７ ケガ・病気について
スクール内では、ケガや事故が起こらないよう注意を払っていますが、このような事は起こりえます。万が一起きた場合は下記のような対処をいたします。
・擦り傷程度の軽いケガに関しては消毒などの手当てをいたしますが、全ての対処は難しいことをご理解下さい。
・緊急時、保護者に連絡が取れない場合、こちらの判断で病院に連れていく場合もあります。
８ レッスン予約
・各レッスンは継続したコースとなり、４回で１セットのレッスン予約となります。（レッスン内容によっては２回セットの場合もあります。）
・基本的な勉強を行うFundamentals Classに参加していない生徒は、その他 Language, Social Studies, Personal and Social Education, Scienceなどのオプションクラスには参加出来ません。
・毎月月末までにＦＡＸで申し込み。
９ 各クラスの定員
・Fundamentals Class / 定員２名
・ オプションのクラス / 定員４名
１０ 振り替えについて
・振り替えを希望しても定員に達している場合はお断りする場合がございます。
１１ 住所・電話番号の変更
住所・電話番号・緊急連絡先に変更が生じた場合はお知らせ下さい。入会申込書の再提出をお願いします。
１２ 学費のお支払い
全てのクラスは毎月月末までに予約後、請求書を発行致します。
銀行振り込みで現金での支払いはお断りさせていただいております。
請求書発行から１週間以内にお振込み下さい。振込み手数料はご負担ください。 お子様の名前でお振り込み下さい。
その他、イベントなどに参加の場合、別途費用がかかる場合があります。
１３ 休学
１か月に１回も通室のなかった場合、6,000円/月が必要になります。
ＭＡに通学していない間も、MA PTA Blogでスケジュールの連絡やカレンダーの提出を生徒全員にお知らせしていますが（１７参照）、それにも関らず６ヶ月間１度も通学しなかった場合は通学意思がないと判断し、自動的に退会となります。無断欠席中も6,000/月は加算され支払いの義務はなくなりません。
１４ 退会について
退会の場合は１か月前までに退会届けを提出して下さい。（たとえば３月20日で退会の場合は２月２０日までに退会届を提出して下さい。）
ただし、転勤の場合のみ会社からの証明書を提出していただければ同月の退会も可能です。
全てのクラスの生徒は、退会の手続きをルール通りに行わなかった場合、一般の方も参加可能となる、Summer School等のスペシャルプログラムへの参加もお断りいたします。
退学届を提出し、再入学する場合は入学金と保険料が必要になりますが、登録料は免除いたします。（ＭＡ側から退学措置をとらせていただいた場合、再入学はできません。）
１５ 支払いの延滞について
支払期日を１０日すぎても支払いの確認が取れない場合は未払いの金額に対して１０％の延滞料金が加算されます。
３か月分の支払いが滞った場合、支払いの確認が取れるまでは停学・退学の措置をとります。未払いによる停学・退学の場合でも支払いの義務がなくなった事にはなりません。
１６ 返金について
授業料は返金できません。
１７ 連絡事項について
その日に勉強した内容及び、毎月のカリキュラムや連絡事項はMA PTA Blogでお伝えしますので確認をお願いします。
MAに入学の際、PTAブログの登録を必須とさせていただきます。
スタッフ一同、次の授業準備等、限られた時間で行動していますので、先生・菅原への質問等はメールまたはPTAブログへのコメントでお願いします。
ＭＡの電話連絡は送迎の遅刻など、緊急の連絡のみ可能とします。先生や菅原に話がある場合は事前にアポイントをお取り下さい。
１８ 先生との交流・制約
個人的な贈答品はご遠慮下さい。
校外で教師と会うなどの個人的交流は禁止します。
先生に対し個人的に連絡先（メールアドレスを含む）を聞くこと、または教える事を禁止します。
スクール内、スクール前で先生に長時間話をする事を禁じます。
（先生達の休憩時間・帰宅時間・次のレッスン準備に支障をきたします。先生へのメッセージがある場合はMAメールにお願いします。）
上記を守らなかった場合、通学をお断りする場合がございます。
１９ 写真の使用に関する承認
MAのHP・Blog等WEBサイトや雑誌等各種印刷物にお子様が写っている写真を使用することがあります。
承認頂けなかった場合は原則として写真は使用いたしませんが、顔がはっきり写っていない場合は使用させて頂くこともありますのでご了承下さい。
もし、写真の使用が不可の場合はその旨を入学願書に記入して下さい。
２１ 図書の貸し出し
貸し出しを許可された生徒はＭＡステッカーの貼ってある本を借りることができます。
許可の判断基準として、お子様が１人でもある程度本を読めること。お母様が読んであげられること。本を大切に扱えること。・・・などを総合的にみて先生方と判断します。
許可する方にはこちらからお話させていただきます。
貸し出し期限は２週間です。期限内に必ず返却してください。(保護者様用貸し出し図書も２週間以内に返却となっています。）
洋書は常に本屋に在庫があるわけではなく、また在庫があったとしても、本屋で購入する場合、もともとの金額よりかなり高く売っています。
今現在MAにある本も破損した場合、再度購入は難しい物が大半です。
本の貸し出しの際、紛失や破損、汚れ（水・食べ物・いたずら書きなど）、損傷（切ってしまったなど）があった場合には本代を全額負担していただき弁償という措置をとらせていただきますので取り扱いにはく れぐれも注意してください。
２２ 在籍のお断り
MAのプログラムを円滑に遂行する事が出来ないと判断した場合や、MAの信頼理念に相応しくないと判断した場合、または授業料の支払いが確認できない場合はこちらから在籍をお断りすることがあります。この場合、返金はございません。在籍をお断りする場合、書面を郵送で２通送らせていただきます。そのうち１通に署名捺印の上、１週間以内に返送して下さい。
*Handbookは告知なしに追加・変更させていただきます。その際にはMA PTA Blogにてお知らせさせていただきます。
