(57) Abstract
 The present invention relates to a sodium-free complex silicon salt electrolyte for a storage battery. The electrolyte is composed of (A) 1 share of inorganic acid at a specific gravity of 1.2-1.8 and (B) 0.5-2 shares of organic silicon compound at a specific gravity of 0.7-1.2° Be', and the electrolyte may further contain (C) surfactant at a specific gravity of 1.1-1.6. The volume percent ratio of (C) to (A+B+C) is 0.5-2 %. The electrolyte according to the present invention is applicable to a conventional lead-plate storage battery or battery made of other electrode material. There is an advantage in preventing the electrolyte from polluting environment in the process of manufacturing, using and disposing the battery. The battery has a good characteristic of large current discharge and meets the need for powered storage battery. The quantity of electricity can remain for one year without the battery being charged.
