Making organ sound for GM-tone-map sound modulesSimulating mutation stops (see below) of the organ, I use instruments in 2 or 3 pitches, mainly 8' + 2 2/3'. In some files, I also use tone of PanFlute in short duration to make attack-sound of Rohrflöte and Gedackt. About indication of pitches in ft.Foundamental pitch is called “ 8' ”. This is from the length of an open pipe of which native frequency equals to the note “C”. Organ stops that have fractional pitches are called “mutation stops” (“Aliquot” in German). Their frequencies are multiplied by numbers except powers of 2. For example, a 2 2/3' ( = 8/3') stop has pipes of which frequencies are multiplied by 3, inversely proportionate to the ratio of lengths. |
