Kobe Chuo Alpine Club(KCAC) was founded in September 1980 being independent from Suma Worker’s Alpine Club. Both Suma and Kobe Chuo belong to Hyogo Worker’s

Alpine Federation which is one of the major members of Japan Worker’s Alpine Federation(JWAF) covering 47 governmental prefectures across Japan from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
 Kobe Chuo will celebrate its 25th anniversary as of September 2005 and we currently boast of more than 100 members of hiking fans and alpinists.
 We are the institution consisted of enthusiastic fans who are fascinated by the wonder of climbing to the mountain and or the fantasy of wandering in a wild nature.

There are various ways of climbing up to mountain depending upon the skill and preference of climber. We Kobe Chuo provides you with varied programs so that you can select the course you like best among offered programs based on your skill and age. The program extends from junior to senior course, where you can enjoy a wide range of climbing variation such as one day hiking, alpine climbing in the thick snow at Japan Alps over 3,000 meters of height, rock-climbing and or climbing up the river onto the top of mountain and so forth.

Safety climbing is the first thing that Kobe Chuo always thinks about.This attitude toward the safety offers a variety of training programs for you covering the skills in both hard and soft aspects. You are free to join any training program of these

  The curriculum includes

Walking technique in the mountain
◇How to read a mountain-map
How to select the hardware(shoes, clothes, gears for rock climbing and alpine snow climbing and others)
Emergency rescue/Self rescue
◇Rock climbing course
◇General orientation on alpine climbing in the high peak of winter

Environmental protection of mountain is one of the main goals and objectives of our activities. “Clean-Hike”, for instance, is our monthly program on the first Sunday of each month except for August whereby we clean up the hiking course picking up waste and garbage such as cans and bottles thrown away in the bushes and along climbing routes up until the top of Mount Maya. A pH test in the river or spring is another thing that we are also checking periodically in several locations at Mount Rokko.
 Kobe Chuo’s programs are open to the public whereby it is aimed at the co-survival and cooperation with local societies where we live, and these include Tempura Hike, Family Hiking, Trial Week, Orienteering, Bus Hiking and so forth

JWAF provides you with Worker’s Association Casualty Insurance Policy which is exclusive to JWAF members only. The Insurance Policy could be said the most favorable program compared with those of other private insurance companies

Requirements for enrollment     
 Anyone who loves mountain and nature and sympathize with us to generate action to protect global environment can enroll at Kobe Chuo Alpine Club. We have established several Corporate Rules to lead the club operation onto the maximum benefits of the club members and you are requested to honor those Rules.
