RGBとは、光の3原色 Red、Green、Blueの頭文字です。
TVやPCなどのモニターはこの3原色の光強度をコントロールし、映像を投影しています。
本プロジェクトでは、3名の演奏家のサウンドがRGBの光強度に変換され、会場の壁面などに投影します。
物理現象としての音の視覚化です。
RGB is the abbreviation for the 3 additive primary colors of light, Red, Green and Blue.
Monitors of TV and PC control such light intensity of three colors to project the images.
This project presents the sounds of 3 musicians, which are transformed into such light intensity of RGB, and the images will be projected on the walls in the space. This is a visualization of the sound as a physical phenomenon.

久にぶりにギターを弾こう思い ジャズの気分でトリオを組んでみようとした がジャズなんてやる人は周りにいません。それでは、ジャズが出来ない楽器にしようということで二人のハンドメイドエレクトロニクス奏者にお願いし目出たくトリオの編成ができました。だから気分はジャズトリオ。エレクトロニクスが聴きたいという人から見れば私が雑音になります。
ジャズあるいはフリージャズをテーマに2005年7月、今井和雄（ギター）、鈴木學（ハンドメイド・エレクトロニクス）、伊東篤宏（オプトロン）の編成で結成。コントロール可能な楽器と正確にはコントロール不可能な電気音具を組み合わせることで生まれる、安定した姿には留まりにくい音楽の形。そこから、私にとって現在のジャズ（の様なもの）を探っていこうと考えている。
避けることに努めていた既存のメロディを弾いてみようと思った。それは不安と欺瞞に溢れたこの場所から染み出すヒリヒリとした痛みが、メロディを使うことで投影されるのではないかと考えたからだ。これは、フォルムを守らないがジャズの様なもの。そしてグループを作ることにした。初めはいくつかの楽器を思い描いたが、やはりアンサンブルを考えてしまい、どうもしっくりこない。そこでイメージしたのは、調性やリズムの関係を持たない電子音が鳴り響く中で、オーソドックスに楽器を弾く事だ。とはいえ電子音も、音の持続があれば和音が生じ、持続が長ければ調性が生まれ、音が途切れれば調期性を持たないがリズムも生まれる。だが、その電子音は独立したオブジェのように存在することもできる。そこが面白いと思った。もはや、楽音に対峙する雑音はない。電子音については、操作に偶発が生じやすいことから、ラップトップ上のソフトウェアの操作ではなく、身体で操作するアナログの電子音が望ましく思えた。そこで鈴木さんと伊東さんにお願いすることにして、トリオという編成になった。これは編成そのものがメタファーだ。ジャズの気分で今井和雄トリオと名づけたが、言わばフェイク。選曲は私だが、それぞれの自発性に任せて演奏しているので、全員が対等の関係にある。

This trio was formed by Imai Kazuo (guitar), Suzuki Manabu (handmade electronics), and Ito Atsuhiro (optron) in July, 2005. I'm using a controllable instrument along with uncontrollable electronic sound devices that may make the music somewhat difficult to remain stable, yet its context of where I am now is the one that is similar to jazz. ーImai Kazuo, from linernotes
Imai Kazuo is the one and only graduate of Takayanagi Masayuki's private guitar school. He played with Kosugi Takehisa's "Taj Mahal Travellers" or Takayanagi's "New Direction", and what's more, he played with Lee Konitz, Arther Doyle, Irene Schweizer, Barre Phillips, and so on. He also organize "Marginal Consort" and "Imai Kazuo Trio" recently.
Ito Atsuhiro plays optron. He use a handmade fluorescent light as a instrument. He named it "optron". Optron strike the intense noise. He control it as feedback noise or low frequency. He was also a owner of the legendary art space called Off-Site. Off-Site familiarized "Onkyo" music as Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko-M, Sugimoto Taku, Nakamura Toshimaru, and so on.
Suzuki Manabu is actually a engineer of electronic instrument for artists but recently he plays his own handmade electronics. His handmade instrument is very interesting and exciting. The sound is strange and hypnotic, not any old noise, it's his style. He collaborate with various artist, musician and dancer.

天井から吊り下げられた5つの装置(USW56，USW57，USW59，USW61, USW113)は超音波発信器、受信器、増幅器それぞれを搭載している。各周波数はおおよそ40KHｚであるが各装置ごとに少しだけずれている。また装置を揺らすと、ドップラー効果によっても周波数はずれる。超音波発信音と周波数が異なる受信音が引き起こすうなりを、この装置で聴くことができる。（鈴木學）
芸術作品はどこに現れるのだろうか？ 人はどのように作品を鑑賞し、どのようにその体験を獲得するのだろうか？物理的に見れば作品は展示空間の中にあるといえる。しかし作品の本質が空間的な体験である場合、空間内に置かれた姿のみについて語るだけでは不完全である。私は鈴木の作品を鑑賞しながら、自分がそれを聴いているということを上書きしてみたくなった。そこで私は2本の超小型マイクを使う事にし、一本は会場の中央に設置、もう一本は私の左耳の中に入れて録音した。作品が起こす空間でのコンディションおよびユニットの揺れがほぼ安定したところで私はマイクの入っている耳を片手で閉じた。この録音行為によって私自身のコンディションが作品に加えられたと考える。（角田俊也）
USW56, USW57, USW59, USW61 and USW113, these five hand-made electronics hanged from a ceiling have an ultrasonic wave transmitter, a reciever and an amplifier. Each frequency of the ultrasonic wave is about 40KHz but slightly different. And when each instrument swings, each frequency changes a little caused by the Doppler effect. On thier instruments we can hear beat signals between transmitted and received ultrasonic waves changed in frequency. (by Manabu Suzuki).
Where does art work appear? How do people perceive a piece of art, and how is that experience grasped? Physically, it's possible to say that the piece is in an exhibited space. However, when the essence of the piece is a spatial experience, it would be imperfect to speak only about the appearance of the work that is placed in a certain space. I came to want to add my experience of listening to Suzuki's work to this piece as my own touch. So, I decided to use a pair of micro-mikes. During the recording, one microphone was set in the center of the exhibited space, and the other was placed inside of my left ear. I closed my ear that has the microphone within it by my hand after the condition of the space caused by the piece and the swinging of the units became nearly stable (take 1) . 2007年5月よりloop-lineで開催していた講座を引き続き行います。
・ＩＣを使って音の出るものをつくろう
技術的な細かいことはとりあえず無視、しかし最低限、壊れないものを制作できる知識、技術を身に付けよう。電気回路は意外といい加減なものです。ポイントさえ押さえれば、それなりに動作してくれますし、壊れることもありません。専門書には高性能を満足するために必要な多くの内容が記載されていますが、本講座では最低限の動作と故障しないための必要な情報だけを取り上げます。
電気回路を製作してみたが動作しなくて困っている方、こんなことをしたいのだがどうしたらいいのか分からない方等の個別質問も、分かる範囲でお答えします。
講座対象者
・音楽、美術等の芸術活動で、エレクトロニクス技術を使用中、または使用予定の方
はじめての方も居酒屋気分でご来場ください。
まずは簡単なLED点滅回路の説明からします。部品購入についても、講師または講座参加者の協力を得ることができます。
