  • Y.S.C. was founded in 1973 as a Nippon Sky Sailing .
    Since then we have provided paragliding coaching the highest level support
    for both experienced pilots and to those serious about starting up .


  • Situated in the famous Hakone sightseeng area, the school is within
    easy reach of some of the finest flying sites around the Tokyo metropolitan
    area, whilst benefiting from the mild and predictable coastal climate.


    • Our Tanna sites offering easy soaring and top landings. Sea
    breezes offer smooth and predictable soaring conditions.

    that we usually are out flying from about 10am till about 5 pm , so call in the
    mornings or evenings.


    School information.
    Learning to fly a paraglider can be great fun .
    During training the emphasis is placed upon progress, combined with safety at all times.

    Initial training takes place on gentle slopes at the bottom of the hill, and students are
    not allowed to move higher up the hill until their instructor is certain that they
    are ready to progress.

    If you're just looking for a tast it's possible to book a one day course.
    If you like to continue then you'll need to attend both a Master and a Pilot course.

    A Master course will take around 10 days, at the end of 4 days you may
    be flying up to a basic level of competence. ("A" class pilot rating)
    Given the right conditions another 4 - 6 days could see you achieving your B class
    pilot rating. Once obtained you are ready for Pilot course to get NP P XC pilot ratings.

    Well, it can be providing the weather plays ball.
    Sometimes it can require a great deal of patience and determination,
    but it's all worth it in the end.

    Fee for the course.
     (Prices correct as of Nov. 98 but subject to change)

    A one day introductory course costs ---- \ 7000

    A Master pilot course costs ---- \18000+insurance (within 3 month)
    (The school will provide all the equipment you require.)

    A Pilot course costs ---- \24000+insurance (within 3 month)
    (You will need to purchase all your own equipment. )

    A transportation fee or \ 1,000 yen will be needed for transportation (Gas and Toll road fees)
    to and from the training area If you do not have your own transportation.
    A \1,000/day third party insurance fee is necessaly of what current insurance you may have.
    We offer other terms of insurance packages for long term students.
    (Cost of pilot satificates are not inclueded.)
    A ground discount is available for groups over 10 people. (10% off)


    The school will initially provide all the equipment you require.
    You will need to purchase your own, either privately or from the school.

    A paraglider suitable for a recently trained pilot will cost around \350,000 new,
    or \100,000 to \250,000 second hand. A helmet will cost around \14,000 - \30,000 new,
    and a harness approximately \60,000-\100,000.


    Availability
    We train all year round (weather permitting). You do need to book in advance though,
    to reserve your space.

    You would need to provide suitable footwear with ankle support, warm outdoor
    clothing, your lunch box ,a bottle of water, sunglass and a pair of gloves.

    School start at 9:00 AM YSC Hakone club house.(See Map below)

    If you come by train, be in front of the police box in front of Hakone Yumoto Station
    at 8:30 AM.(Advance reservation is necessaly)
    (Odakyu Line from Shinjiyuku then change to Hakone Tozan line at Odawara station)
