Jason : 本国映画ライターによる映画の内容 with イングリッシュ : English Description of Story | | | | | Amazon.com:After 11 years in development hell and screenplay drafts by 13 different writers, the long-awaited smackdown of Freddy vs. Jason finally arrives. After making their respective debuts in Friday the 13th (1980) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, replacing long-time Jason performer Kane Hodder) and razor-gloved Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) square off in a slasher-franchise combo-deal that only their most devoted fans will appreciate; turns out this is a lightweight match in which nobody wins. It's an average entry in the histories of these horror icons, comparable to half of their previous sequels, and Bride of Chucky director Ronny Yu satisfies purists with plenty of gushing blood and mayhem when Freddy recruits Jason to slice 'n' dice the ill-fated teens who've forgotten Freddy's once-formidable reign of terror. While it logically connects the gruesome legacies of Nightmare's Elm Street and Friday's Camp Crystal Lake, this horror hybrid is shockingly uninspired. It briefly peaks when Freddy gives the unconscious Jason a dream-world pummeling, but their ultimate showdown's a draw. In the immortal words of Peggy Lee, is that all there is? --Jeff Shannon | | | | | | | | | Freddy Vs. I'll start out by saying that I'm a huge freddy krueger fan. Since I was like 8 or 9, I think he's one of THE great literary characters, on film or not, he is terror made tangible with a nasty sense of humor. I only recently got a chance to watch the Jason movies (of which 6 is my favorite). The plot is great. It's not too deep, but it's an excellent way to bring the two slasher icons together at last, which I'm sure is no easy feat. The acting is actually pretty good, dispite the large quantities of throwaway characters and lame dialog. The actors sell it nonetheless, which is a credit to them. My favorite thing about the movie is the way they blended the cliches of both series together, almost too neatly. Remember though, all this is really just one big deus ex machina to get to what this movie is really about, the fight scenes between Jason and Freddy. Which are SPECTACULAR. I love the approach they had to the fights. Very brutal combat instead of lithe martial arts or some nonsense. Just bashing and slashing. My favorite bit is when Jason throws freddy through a window, and while he's lying there on the broken glass of the window pane he drags freddy through the wall breaking all the support beams and such.OUCH! If you're a fan of either series or just like a good action movie buy this now. It's not perfect, but it's better than you might expect. | | | | | | | | | | | | HARDCORE FANS WE GOT WHAT WE WHERE EXPECTING / 2005-12-14

If you are a fan of these '80's slasher Horror Favorites, then you will enjoy it just seeing Freddy and Jason together in a movie. It makes it feel like old times when Freddy was the evil master of dreams and Jason was just...well just being Jason getting his revenge on those camp counselors as usual. Great to have them back again on screen. | | | | | | | | | | | | A Showdown Of Epic Proportions / 2005-11-26
Fans of both A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th had been wanting this for years. A showdown between Freddy and Jason had been planned in the past, but unfortunately due to licensing conflicts and money issues, the idea never came together. However almost 15 years after the initial idea of putting these two monster, horror movie icons together first surfaced, it final came to fruition. "Freddy Vs. Jason" is a movie that anyone who enjoyed either A Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday The 13th will enjoy. Make no mistake, there's no big plot here, no tricky story lines or anything, this movie is basically just to get these two mammoth superpowers together so they can have their ultimate showdown. However despite a lacking plot, and somewhat useless characters, Freddy Vs. Jason delivers on many different levels. Let the battle begin! The plot is not really the main point of the movie. Like I said before, the main point of this movie is getting Freddy and Jason together so they can have their fight. The plot sees the return of both Elm Street and Crystal Lake as settings (who knew Elm Street and Crystal Lake were located so close to one another? No wonder no one wants to live there!). Freddy returns to his usual stopping grounds of Elm Street to try to once again terrorize the youth through their dreams. Unfortunately he can no longer harm any of the children in their dreams, because no one seems to be afraid of him. We quickly learn that all the children who have had incidents related to Freddy Kruger in their dreams, have been quarantined in a mental hospital, therefore removing the legend of Freddy Kruger from the minds of the youth. Freddy realizes he has to create his legend of terror all over again, but since he is stuck in the dream world, he needs someone in the living world to do his dirty work. Enter Jason. Freddy resurrects Jason, and releases him into the living world to start a killing spree, and hopefully restore the fear Freddy once held over the youth. However Jason quickly gets out of control, and begins killing everyone and everything for his own glory. After Freddy is brought into the real world via our heroine, we get the showdown we have been waiting for. The movie is very well directed, and for the most part the actors/actresses give a solid performance. Monica Keena and Jason Ritter are favorable heroes, and do well with their roles. However the real treat is seeing Freddy and Jason together. The immortal Robert Englund returns as Freddy, and newcomer Ken Kirzinger enters to play Jason. Their performances are definitely the most memorable the movie has to offer. The fight sequences between the two are nothing short of stellar. While sometimes they get quite ridiculous (as when Freddy is launching the oxygen tanks at Jason) they are always entertaining throughout the entire film. The killings that are found in the movie are of course gruesome, yet not really scary. Most of the deaths are actually kind of funny in a twisted way. The movie has its fair share of nudity, of course showcasing a naked woman in Crystal Lake (won't they ever learn?) and in the shower. There's plenty of comic relief from the pot smoking dou that somehow finds their way into the mix, and Freddy alike. The special effects are great, particularly the fiery lake scene at the end of the movie. The soundtrack is also very good featuring the likes of Killswitch Engage, Spineshank, Hatebreed, From Autumn To Ashes, and Sevendust, all which seem to flow perfect with what the movie is going for. While the plot may have its share of holes and ridiculous ideas, it's not a really important aspect of the movie. The best things is seeing Freddy and Jason together taking each other on finally. Fans had wanted it for years, and I don't think there could have been a better movie made for these two to star in. Plot or no plot this is one of the most entertaining installments in either series. If you were a fan of A Nightmare On Elm Street or Friday The 13th, then you will undoubtably enjoy this movie, no matter what the outcome (which I will leave for you to see of course). "Freddy Vs. Jason" delivers on many levels, and is a highlight for both franchises. Don't waste time, see this one right away. | |
