A large chunk of my time finding links is by looking through my competitor's link profiles. Essentially, you're piggy backing off of their success. The direction that you take to improve the visibility of your site on the web should be decided upon by analysing the current state of your website, the audience you are targeting, your business objectives and any previous SEO work that has been carried out. Research other business websites and encourage them to link to your site. Joint ventures are a good way to exchange links and benefit each other’s business as well. According to Google, natural links leading back to your site are definitely something to strive for.

Keep making a great site and getting the word out about it
Create a list of articles with links that are similar or closely related to your content. Getting your business included in local resource lists is an indicator to Google about your authority. All you have to do is locate authoritative websites within your industry/community that also host a couple of local resources. links, it should be to generate buzz
or discussion; to share knowledge or
data or other insights that we know our
audiences (and prospecive customers)
will find valauble. Removing the duplicate content can have a very positive influence on the rankings of your pages. Ensure the number of visits and new visitors from within your target market is increasing.
