On-page SEO principles

User-generated content (UGC) sites and communities are two of my favourite places to find untapped keywords. A large chunk of my time finding links is by looking through my competitor's link profiles. Essentially, you're piggy backing off of their success. The direction that you take to improve the visibility of your site on the web should be decided upon by analysing the current state of your website, the audience you are targeting, your business objectives and any previous SEO work that has been carried out. Research other business websites and encourage them to link to your site. Joint ventures are a good way to exchange links and benefit each other’s business as well. According to Google, natural links leading back to your site are definitely something to strive for.

Advanced on-page SEO principles

To ensure the best web browsing experience possible, the software engineers at Google created a search ranking algorithm that thinks like Internet users. For many of us, the search box has become our entry point to the Web. It’s entirely possible that Google actually uses some sort of hidden sliding scale to determine its quality score. While the page meta data (page description and keywords) are not nearly as important as they used to be, they still count. Take advantage of them by putting your keyword or phrase there. Linking out to well-respected authority sites will not only increase the relevancy of your content and time readers spend on your site, but it is also believed to send trust signals to Google and improve SEO ranking.

Content marketing is about building meaningful relationships

Some of the first things you probably think of with regards to SEO are links. Links are good. We need lots of links to our site, and to our pages, to be successful. This is part of Authority, that sneaky third aspect of SEO. To add to your understanding of links, internal links (or links from your own website) are also incredibly important. They’re how we pass our website’s authority around. And those super nav links? They create links from every single page on the site, to every single other page on the site. It is widely understood in the industry that search engine optimization should be built in, as early as possible, to the entire site development strategy, from choosing a content management system (CMS) and planning site architecture to developing on-page content. Prevent duplicate content. Don’t confuse Google with almost similar pages. Those serve no one. Local search success can be achieved by SEO. When a webpage links to any other page, it’s called a backlink. In the past, backlinks were the major metric for the ranking of a webpage. A page with a lot of backlinks tended to rank higher on all major search engines, including Google. This is still true to a large extent. If you want to achieve a higher ranking on Google and other search engines, you’ll need to get serious about search engine optimization.

Promote transparency and foster trustworthiness on your site

Gaz Hall, a SEO Expert from the UK, said: "Dig through your customer communications to find additional, actively used keywords. Talk to your customer service people to find out what customers are asking about (in their words). " The biggest factor in the SEO revolution is the rise of content. Instead of stung blog posts with the right formatting and wording to make it to the top of search results, users are looking for quality content (not basic or timely information) more than ever. So is Google. Most people have heard of SEO, or Search Engine Optimization. This process generally involves making changes to a website to make it more visible to search engines and improving the site’s rank. Longer URLs may decrease search visibility. Use the main keyword in the URL and keep It short and simple Always keep the restrictions of the small screen in mind when creating or editing content. Don’t use too many long sentences, keep your paragraphs around four sentences and use many stops like lists and headings to break up your text.

Content is vital for SEO

If you use Google Analytics, you can generate information about search queries that brought visitors to your site by looking at unpaid search traffic. Many SEO campaigns start with keywords – knowing what the audience within your niche is searching for is a powerful advantage. During this we’re going to use tools to research the real words people type in search engines. Speaking the language of your audience, and not technical jargon, is how you’ll reach them – just as in the offline world. Link-building can also come from building a targeted and involved community. The more regular visitors a site has, and the more passionate those fans are, the more likely webpages will be read, shared, and linked to. Google wants to see that people are spending time on your website and the best way you can ensure this happens is by making content that people want to read. Moreover, you need to ensure that that content is presented in a way that encourages people to stick around. Website development has moved towards a ‘mobile first’ approach – and this means that search engines prefer the mobile page index to the desktop index, since, in practice, more and more users are accessing websites via mobile devices.

Keep making a great site and getting the word out about it

Create a list of articles with links that are similar or closely related to your content. Getting your business included in local resource lists is an indicator to Google about your authority. All you have to do is locate authoritative websites within your industry/community that also host a couple of local resources. If you have already worked to establish your business as an effective local authority, all you need to do is reach out. The goal shouldn’t be to generate links, it should be to generate buzz or discussion; to share knowledge or data or other insights that we know our audiences (and prospecive customers) will find valauble. Removing the duplicate content can have a very positive influence on the rankings of your pages. Ensure the number of visits and new visitors from within your target market is increasing.
