Is there any significance to “Off page optimisation”?

If you’re hesitant about the effectiveness of SEO, it’s safe to assume you don’t have much technical experience with website development or programming -- and that the prospect of technical SEO intimidates you. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for a search engine optimization strategy. Every company, whether large or small, needs to first set some specific business goals and objectives. From there, it’s possible to find your marketing opportunities and set a strategy that matches your current size and goals for growth. Craft some content ideas (focusing on competitive keywords) and get in touch with the editors or the person who's responsible for guest contributions. Ask them if they’re interested in your content ideas. All Javascript and CSS files on your site must be unblocked. That means Google must be able to access those files so that it can see the site as a normal visitor does. In days of yore, SEO agencies would take on a client, create a website, copy and paste a deluge of keywords at the foot of all its webpages, and make it magically disappear by turning the copy white.

Google My Business/Google Maps Listing and Bing Places

If you’re an existing business, you can learn a lot from your current customer base. If you have a shop you probably have a good idea of your target audience because you and your customer service team will be meeting and talking to them everyday. Otherwise, you could learn more about your customers by asking them to fill out a survey. If you optimize your meta descriptions with clear and attractive extracts on what potential visitors can find on your site, it becomes easier for them to see if the information they’re looking for is on that page. Google values relevancy to the user's search more than it values pure LINK Authority. When the content answers the question of the search better than the other results (according to Google), it will rank higher if it has a decent link profile for that search result. Contrary to popular belief, linking out to relevant external websites does not directly impact your search rankings. You can no longer present less information on your mobile site than on your desktop site. Your content has to be the same on both, because, in the future, you can only rank on the information that is on your mobile page.

Content that is not visible to the search engines

Other best practices that we have in SEO are things where we will take a keyword and will essentially just make our keyword research very limited to the ones that have produced high returns. You should use descriptive anchor text for all your text links. It plays a significant role and is seen by most of the search engines. Find relevant, high authority sites that partly or completely cover your niche. In Google search, the first 10 results probably belong to high authority sites. Long tail SEO can attract traffic. If you only do a little SEO once in a while, then you need to adjust your expectations on how much organic traffic you can expect from search engines. Websites that are constantly improving their code, publishing valuable content, and earning backlinks and social share activity are building a larger arsenal than sites that are not engaging in SEO. Make it easy for users to distinguish between regular text and the anchor text of your links. Your content becomes less useful if users miss the links or accidentally click them.

Understanding the rationale behind site structure

We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Google wants to retain its reputation as a quality search engine, so it’s main goal is to make web browsing enjoyable. The satisfaction and enjoyment of web users will only be met if users are given search results that are relevant, safe, useful and easy to navigate." Search strategy is an iterative process. One of the most powerful aspects of search as an acquisition channel is that you are provided with near real-time feedback about what’s working and what’s not. Link building is hard and getting high-quality links is a time-consuming process. If you’re tempted by quick win strategies or tactics then don’t be surprised when your rankings start to dip. Creating great quality and link worthy content will help your business gain links naturally and there are also a few tactics that you can use to acquire new links. Every search engine has a program known as a “bot” or “crawler”. These programs follow links and visit websites. As they do so, they index website content and follow the links on the website to other sites. If your website has not yet been indexed, it will not appear in search results. Do not try to avoid no-follow links completely. These links may have value in improving your search rank.

People share articles they don’t read

Stay on top of relevant trends, create “how-to” blog posts, and frequently update older content to make sure you’re continuing to serve your audience with useful and timely information even after it’s initially published. Google continues to say that high-quality content is important if you want to get high rankings. To better understand Google's idea of high-quality content, Google's guides for their own projects can help. Google is famously secretive about how it ranks local businesses. The more pages you have give you more of a chance to rank well for a more diverse set of keyword phrases: this should technically lead to more traffic from Google, Yahoo and Bing. Once you’ve selected target keywords, you need to create content around them. Use your keywords (and related terms) in titles, headings, image tags, and the body of your page text.

Make sure your site is optimized for mobile

Test your site’s link and fix the broken links to minimise the error pages or the duplicate content. Your content should be appealing both for users and search engines and thus, both readability and crawlability should be taken into consideration. Social media networks can help you to give your content the initial boost it requires before the media and other interested users find it. Each journey begins with a landing page and ends with a so-called money page, where the user completes a goal. The more relationships you have and the more people trust you, the more people will talk about you, link to you and, ultimately, buy from you. Customers don’t buy from people they like, they buy from those they trust! Some websites use pages with endless scrolling. Although Google can index these pages to some extend, is is better to have real web pages with pagination. Individual pages are much easier to parse.
