Building and assembly process

Transfer template on a
laminated lumber by pencil.
 Cutting of the lumber by

Measurement and Data

Left hand data is A-1K frequency response curve.

Pioneer TAD 2001, 1 in throat,
driver is mounted.The response
shows very flat sound pressure
level from 800Hz to almost 20KHz.

This horn with TAD 2001 or
equivalent driver covers higher
frequency range in two way system. However, high frequency response depends upon the driver capability.

It is a good idea to set the crossover frequency in
between 1.2 or 1.5KHz.
Left hand data is a directivity curve at 1 KHz.

This data shows that the horn system provides reasonable service area in front of the horn.

It is also good that back side of
-67.5 to +67.5 degree zone has less output. This means that reflection from walls of a room is minimized.
This effect is one of the advantage
of horn systems.


Right hand data is a directivity curve at 5 KHz.

This data shows that the horn system provides reasonable service area, -30 to +30 degree, in front of the horn.

It is also good that back side of -45 to +45 degree zone has very small output. This means that reflection from walls of a room is minimized. This effect is one of the advantage of horn systems.
